Both myself and the group welcome and need feedback. It is our intention to help fix a wrong and unjust system, not simply replace it with one that benefits us and hurts others. But to work toward justice, fairness, and compassion toward all involved, with the long term well-being of the child at the top of the list. Obviously this system is failing you as well. One of the things that I think we need to work toward is a legal system that recognizes divorce as one of the most traumatic events in a persons life. A system with compassionate judges with a common sense knowledge of marriage, raising kids, morals, and ethics. One in which public service is used to guide and correct behavior, not simply lock someone up or threaten them with severe punishment immediately. In my case and possibly yours, I believe a little community service, (just to let everyone know the court will not tolerate childish and spiteful behavior at the expense of the children or other parent), would have gone a long way toward resolving the problem. You care enough about your children to know that jailing the father has serious consequences for the kids, yet that is about your only option. Please take a little time and help us come up with a solution, some action that the court could take in your particular case, that you think would be a reasonable corrective action with the most benefit and least harm to all involved.
