- Will Some
Reservists Homecoming Be a Jail Cell?
-
More than 100,000 reservists are currently stationed in
Iraq, as well as 2,500 members of the Illinois National Guard. Many will
remain on active duty for as long as 18 months. But will some Illinois
fathers' homecoming be a jail cell?

- It's Child Support
Guidelines that Need Surgery, Not "Deadbeat Dads"
-
Kentucky judge D. Michael "Mickey" Foellger has offered
men who are behind on their child support obligations a choice: have a
vasectomy or spend 30 days in jail. However, according to a new study of
child support, it is Kentucky's child support guidelines which need
surgery, not so-called "deadbeat dads."

New Study Shows Child Support Guidelines
in Need of Reform

Child Support Civil Rights Violations
Steven, a California father of two, was assigned an erroneous child
support arrearage, arrested by federal agents at gunpoint, jailed
without due process, and locked up for seven months with murderers and
other violent criminals. He and tens of thousands of other fathers are
victims of perhaps the greatest civil liberties violation of our
era--the war against so-called "deadbeat dads."
Though the mainstream media and civil libertarian groups have been
extremely slow to recognize it, child support enforcement's police state
tactics routinely violate fathers' constitutional rights and right to
due process, as do the actions of out-of-control judges.
Los Angeles family law attorney Margaret E. Monos frequently defends
fathers against Los Angeles County's Child Support Services Department.
Monos and Steven joined Glenn on His Side with Glenn Sacks.
